The importance of character development as an Entrepreneur

Entrepreneurship requires deep intrapersonal development to get through all of the challenges we face. There are 6 character qualities that are essential to entrepreneurial development:

MINDFULNESS: ancient philosophy – Presence

The awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present, non-judgmentally, to the unfolding of experiences moment by moment

CURIOSITY: exploration

An innate love of learning and of knowledge, without the lure of any profit – bridging the gap in knowledge – the more curious, the bigger the pursuit = valuable and application gain

COURAGE: bravery

The ability to act despite fear or uncertainty, in risky situations, or when we are feeling vulnerable

RESILIENCE: tenacity & agility

An ability or set of qualities that allow one to overcome obstacles – a dynamic process of encompassing positive adaptation within the context of significant adversity

ETHICS: integrity & compassion

Teachable character quality, rather than a knowledge domain – how we behave in and engage in the world – our state of reasoning based on virtues, consequences, and our duty

LEADERSHIP: mentorship, responsibility, and inspiring

Maximizing impact and influence, motivating to act in certain ways for goal attainment – ambition for the bigger picture – to bring up together – relational and ethical process of people attempt to accomplish positive change together – inclusive, empowering, purposeful, ethical, and process-oriented
